MANILA, Philippines – Binigyang-diin ni Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla na bagamat may ‘bending the law’ nilinaw na hindi nangangahulogan ng pagsuway sa saligang batas. Paliwanag ito ni Remulla, sa kanyang pagsang-ayon sa usapin tungkol sa naunang sinabi ni Senator Erwin Tulfo sa “bending the law” sa isang pagdinig ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee kaugnay pa rin sa kontrobersyal na flood control project ng pamahalaan. Ang naging salita ni Tulfo ay sinagot naman ni Remulla ng pagsang-ayon nang tanungin siya ng Senador. Sa kanyang opisyal na panunumpa bilang bagong Ombudsman, pinanindigan ni Remulla ang kanyang naging kasagutan. “Bending the law but not breaking the law, diba. Eh ano yan eh, it’s a figure of speech that is ah the entitlement of the senator who asked me that question. But I’m in sure that he’s not asking me to break the law,” ani Ombudsman Remulla.
