This Privacy Policy describes how the Citizens for Good Governance Transparency and Accountability Portal ("C4GG TAP," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our platform.

We collect content you submit to the platform, including deeds, comments, votes (agree/disagree and trust votes), reports, evidence files, and other contributions.

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, actions taken, and timestamps. This data helps us improve the platform and detect abuse.

3. Information Sharing
- Public content: Your deeds, comments, votes, and profile information (display name, reputation) are visible to all users and visitors.

- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of C4GG TAP, our users, or the public.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security (RLS) policies that restrict data access based on user roles and ownership. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and follow security best practices to protect your information.
5. Your Rights
- Access: You can view all your contributions and account information from your profile.
- Correction: You can edit your profile information and request corrections to your submitted content.
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your account. Personal information will be removed, though previously published content may be retained in anonymized form to preserve the public record.
- Export: You can request a copy of your contributions and account data.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We also use browser local storage to save your theme preference (light/dark mode). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users via platform notification or email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
