Marina C Javellana-Yao

Mayor Mayette Javellana-Yao is a public servant and community leader from Bago City, Philippines, known for her compassionate leadership and strong grassroots connection. Coming from a respected local family with a legacy of public service, she carries forward a tradition of dedication to community development. She studied at the University of the Philippines, where she earned a degree in Business Management with studies in Psychology and Public Administration, and is also an alumna of Hua Ming. Her political career began gaining prominence when she became the top-ranking councilor of Bago City in the 2022 elections. In 2025, she was elected mayor, reflecting the trust and support of her constituents. Mayor Javellana-Yao is recognized for championing programs focused on health services, livelihood opportunities, education, and digital access. Guided by her development agenda “ASENSO BAGO,” she continues to promote inclusive growth, good governance, and unity as she works toward improving the quality of life for the people of Bago City.
